Dallas Fort Worth Courthouse Wedding
Your wedding does not need to be big to feel deeply meaningful.
A courthouse wedding brings the day back to what matters most.
The quiet anticipation before your names are called. The hands held through nervous laughter. The people you love who came to witness your promise. And the moment you step outside together, newly married.

FAQ

Do We Need a Marriage License Before Booking Our Courthouse Ceremony?
Yes. You will need a valid Texas marriage license for your ceremony. Marriage licenses generally become valid 72 hours after issuance and must be used within 90 days, although certain exceptions may apply. Since obtaining your license and reserving your ceremony are separate steps, allow enough time for both.
Why Is Tarrant County So Popular? Are There Other Options?
Tarrant County offers a classic courthouse experience in central Fort Worth, with convenient access to nearby photo locations. Because it is a popular choice, availability may be limited, so planning ahead is important. Other courthouses and civil ceremony locations throughout Dallas-Fort Worth may be less busy and offer a quicker, more relaxed experience, followed by portraits in a nearby park or urban setting.
What Happens During a Courthouse Wedding Ceremony?
After checking in, you may wait briefly before being invited into the courtroom. The judge will review your marriage license and guide you through a short ceremony, which may include vows, a ring exchange, and a first kiss. The ceremony usually lasts about 10 minutes, followed by any required paperwork, congratulations, family photographs, and newlywed portraits. The exact order may vary by court and judge.
Can We Bring Guests and Take Photographs Inside?
Usually, but the rules vary by courtroom. Some courts welcome larger groups and allow photography from multiple locations, while others limit guest capacity, flash, movement, or equipment. I will help you plan around the setting and confirm what to expect before your wedding day.
